The Beginning of our Foodie Journey

When we came back from Europe, my main focus was to start our fun food journey with my little guy. For some parents, it can be overwhelming and tiresome, but for myself, it was a joy! I love it because he enjoys eating! He is very black and white when it comes to his palette. He knows what he likes and makes it known! He makes so many faces when trying something new, and when he loves it, he yells at me for not going faster and jumps towards the spoon! It is the most adorable thing!

Whilst in Europe, we introduced him to a few new things, but very little of them, such as carrots, oatmeal, banana, potatoes. He is not the fan of bananas alone, but mixed in, he tolerates it.

Luckily, because we arrived at the beginning of Autumn, a lot of my favourite vegetables were in season! Below is a list of items he favors most. I would either blend some together or feed it alone. As required, he still gets his milk, but mostly 3/4x times a day. Early morning, mid-afternoon after lunch, before bedtime, sometimes mixed with oatmeal, and another one as needed during the day.

  • Sweet potatoes
  • Butternut squash
  • Carrots
  • Russet potatoes
  • Carrots
  • Applesauce
  • Oatmeal
  • Apple
  • Kale
  • Spinach
  • Zucchinis
  • Sweet peas
  • Rice
  • Strawberry
  • Apricot
  • Celery

Throughout the first couple of weeks, we tried things separately, and little by little, I began to make combinations. My motto is: be creative! Research fun recipes online, and make them! It’s time-consuming, but when he/she devours it, it will be so worth it!

What are some of your baby’s  favourites? I am curious to know!

Happy Eating!

  1. Thanks great that he likes so many vegetables. My daughter ate every vegetable combination before 15months then it was limited to about 10 foods. Now she’s 2 and a half and most vegetables need to be feed to her but at least she eats them. Others are amazed how healthy she eats but I’m waiting for the day she picks up the vegetables on her own.

    1. That’s awesome! Did she develop any food allergies or she’s pretty much safe in the food department ? I’ve introduced him to pineapple and it made him sick, so I’ll wait on citrus fruits a little bit longer! Thanks for the follow as well! 💕
